Back to Back rides

It's been a while since I've pulled off back to back rides. Even though I was sucking wind and had no legs, it still felt good. She was a bit sandy out there today, which was not too good for me this morning. I've got the itch again, need a day off, but can't wait to clip in and go again.

2012 Xterra Last Stand Tri Goal

Last year, I had an ambitious goal of 1:53:00. I was off that time by ten minutes. The official time was 2:02:18. After last year's triathlon, I basically went from one extreme to another. Eating right and exercising all the time to hardly exercising and eating whatever I wanted. I basically did this until mid December 2011. Six months of losing my fitness level I had worked so hard to attain. I have 5 months to get that back and hopefully then some. With that being said, I really want to beat last year's time, but will also be happy with finishing..

How the quest began

Over the July 4, 2010 holiday, I was hanging out with my family thinking about my training for a simple 184 mile 2 day bike ride the upcoming fall. While I was thinking over my training and the upcoming ride, I got the feeling that just the ride was too easy. (Later to be proved wrong) I decided that it was too late for 2010 to complete a triathlon after taking about 10 years off from any sort of consistent physical training. So I set myself a goal to complete a triathlon in 2011. I have found "the" triathlon, the Xterra Last Stand at Fort Custer in Augusta, MI on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
